TV5MONDE Takes Armoza's Karl & Max To 200 Countries

TV5MONDE, the worldwide partner network of Canadian broadcaster TV5, has licensed the ready-mades of the Armoza Formats’ dramedy Karl & Max. The French-speaking group will air the series through its 11 channels across 200 countries globally from next spring.

This collaboration marks the first partnership between Israeli indie Armoza Formats, who are distributing the format as well as the finished series, and TV5MONDE, one of the most widely-distributed networks in the world with a reach of 291 million households.

Karl & Max is also set to air this September on Canada’s TVA, following its successful pre-launch on the channel’s VOD platform Club Illico, where it increased their subscriptions by 32%.

Karl & Max (10x60’) is a refreshing dramedy filled with suspense, humor and miscommunications. Karl and Max are just 2 ordinary guys on an ordinary fishing trip, until they find a body and a bag containing a gun and millions in cash. In spite of themselves, they are thrown into a world that they could have never imagined. Caught up in a race against organized crime for the money and trapped by the lies they must spin to their loved ones, they are swept along by the unfolding events. Will Karl and Max be able to return to their peaceful lives and save not only their dreams and their relationships, but also their own skins?

Yves Bigot, CEO of TV5MONDE, “We are proud to add this great Canadian series filled with adventure, suspense and humor to our roster of North-American French-speaking programs.

Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats, “‘Karl & Max’ creates the ideal combination between comedy and drama to make a high quality, relatable and funny series. TV5MONDE is the perfect home for the show and we are confident that it will fascinate French-speaking viewers internationally.”
