Spain’s Globomedia Acquires Dance Revolution

Armoza Formats has today announced that Dance Revolution, the prime time dance competition from Québecor Content and Fair-Play that originally aired on Canada’s TVA, has now been acquired in Spain by prodco Globomedia.

Most recently the format was taken in France by Reservoir Prod and after its successful first season in Canada, where it became one of the most popular entertainment shows with a 35% market share, a second season has been commissioned by TVA and is due to air in 2019.

Dance Revolution (11x90’) is the prime time dance show that welcomes all dancers to compete and be judged with a 360˚ shot of their most spectacular “Revolution” moment using state-of-the-art technology. In every stage, the three masters will have the help of the Revolution moments – capturing the dancers’ precise and timeless movements to make sure that they make the right decision. The dancers’ performances and the breath-taking Revolution moments will decide the four finalists, who will showcase their talent in the hope of winning the $100k grand prize.

Javier Pons, Managing Director at Globomedia, “We are very excited to develop ‘Dance Revolution’ in Spain, a format that is competition in its purest form. The 360º recording requires participants to perform at the highest level and risk everything with every step they take, so that they can provide the perfect moment to be captured. This innovative technology is what makes this format one of the greatest television shows for the whole family.”

Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats, “‘Dance Revolution’ has revolutionized dance competitions with its state-of-the art technology that captures the most breath-taking moves of each dancer. We believe that Globomedia is the perfect partner with whom to bring Spanish audiences this innovative spin on a beloved genre.”
