First Deal For Armoza’s The Surprise Teacher

Armoza Formats has closed their first deal today for new factual entertainment format, The Surprise Teacher. The local rights to the format have been taken by French Canadian production company Avanti Ciné Vidéo. The agreement was signed on the first day of MIPTV.

The format was originally produced by Palomar Productions and will air on Italy’s Rai 2 during prime time starting May 16th.

The Surprise Teacher (60’) is the inspiring factual entertainment show, where each week a new celebrity will surprise a class of high school students as he disrupts their usual studies with a once-in-a-lifetime experience. What the students believe is set to be just an ordinary day turns into a lesson they will always remember when the celebrity becomes their substitute teacher, giving them a master class that reflects his passion and experiences. Through this unique perspective we are given the rare chance to look into the hearts and minds of the country’s young generation as they get ready to embark on their life’s journey in a rapidly changing world.

Monic Lamoureux, Executive Director at Avanti, “We are happy to be the first ones to pick up such a moving format as ‘The Surprise Teacher’ and to work with Armoza to bring it to our viewers in Canada.”

Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats, “‘The Surprise Teacher’ offers the opportunity to bring the younger generation back to TV, due to its exploration into the passions and life experiences of both celebrities and high school students. We are looking forward to working with Avanti to create a local adaptation and are thrilled to have signed the show’s first deal with them.”
